    Hi Abby,
I really enjoyed your post about Mykonos a while back. I’m debating visiting either Mykonos or Santorini in the off season (next month) and would love your opinion about the best destination this time of year. I’m a single male and I am totally fine with peace and quiet, but would prefer some people out and about and a glimpse of night life. Thoughts?

    Thanks!
    Joe

      Hi Joe,
I’d say it would depend on when you are planning to go on your trip – if it’s in November and those two islands are your options I would probably say Santorini over Mykonos. A lot of things like shops & restaurants have already begun to shut down for the season at this point and if you go after October I would remind you to be prepared to not have good beach weather. That being said, it is a nice quiet time on the islands – night life is much busier in the summer and during tourist seasons. Have fun!

Hi Abbie – I too am a single woman who is starting to venture out on traveling. I am guessing that I am a bit older than you are, but I still have some spunk in me. I have already pre-booked a couple of tours with tour companies and am a little frustrated with the “single supplement.” So for my birthday in late October I decided to go to Greece on my own (and save a bunch of money). I am planning to go to Athens, Santorini and Mykonos. I am super pumped, but then started reading blogs about “nothing to do in October.” Your website is making me feel much better! My party days are over so I am actually looking forward to quiet time with few tourists in my visit to Greece. I also noticed how much cheaper the flights and hotels are in October! This post is really just to say thank you – and I think you are adorable!!!

I’m so happy to hear you’re heading out on a solo trip! I know you’ll have a great time, Greece is one of my favorite countries! Enjoy & happy travels 🙂
