The Ultimate List of the Best Museums in the World
World’s Best Museums Visiting a new country can be exciting yet overwhelming experience. There is art, culture, history, architecture, music, design and science that are all waiting to be learned and explored in cities and towns throughout the world. A museum can provide a glimpse into local life, or provide education on a broader level. I think museums are a way to get a glimpse of the view of a country. Small, local museums even more-so, they show how they perceive themselves and the rest of the world. Get out to a museum near you, open your eyes and enrich your minds. Doing some research to choose an interesting museum…

Best Destinations for Responsible Wildlife Vacations
Responsible Wildlife Vacations Wildlife destinations are some the of most popular places to vacation, seeing animals you don’t find in your backyard can easily be the top priority when planning a trip. There are locations at all ends of the globe to learn more about different species and see more wildlife.  The important part before taking that dream trip is making sure you’ve booked a sustainable tour and ethically responsible tourism along with animal welfare should be the highest priority to ensure the animals we are wanting to see will be around in the future. Here is a list of my top places to find responsible wildlife vacations. Turtles Lay…

Snapshot Sunday: Borneo Stilt Homes
I’m getting excited about my upcoming destination to Vietnam. In doing research and preparation for my trip, I keep finding similarities of Malaysian fishing villages when I spent time in Borneo, especially these stilt homes in Sabah. Simplistic design in impoverished communities, these families rely on the water running below their floorboards for their livelihood. I’m looking forward to learn and experience first hand about Vietnamese life on the water.

The Challenges and Triumphs of Traveling Solo
My eyes squinted, adjusting to the sunlight as I wearily stepped through the sliding airport doors, pulling my luggage and making my way towards the taxi stand. I was surprised to see a woman emerge from the drivers seat, a light pink scarf adorned her head. I rubbed my eyes to make sure I had seen correctly. Not many women cabbies in general (only 2% of the world’s taxi drivers are women) and certainly even less in a predominantly Islamic country so it’s fair to guess she is a minority in the Malaysian transportation service arena. Bleary-eyed from my early flight I opened the door and slid across to the…

George Town, Malaysia: The Ultimate Street Art
How have I missed sharing one of my favorite places!?! Ready yourself for an onslaught of photographs of one of my all time locations, George Town. The capital of Penang, Malaysia, the old town section is a UNESCO World Culture Heritage city founded in the 1700’s by a trader in the British East India Company with European architectural influences along with a predominant Chinese populations, it’s a wonderful blend of east meeting west. Oozing with charm the town is a fusion of cultures all from it’s architecture to the cuisine. The best thing I decided to do while in Malaysia was hang out here for a week, rent a bike…

My Favorite Moments of 2014
2014, what a whirlwind! I had several one of a kind experiences this year and I think I spent a lot of time pinching myself making sure I wasn’t dreaming, exploring new places, meeting new friends and enjoying life has a way of seeming unreal. It has been a treat to go through TONS of photos of the past year and I’ve collected a few to share some of the stand outs. My day as a Maltese falconer By far and away one of my more favorite memories of this year. While in Malta I decided to take the Maltese Falcon story to the next level and go to the…

You had me at UNESCO: Why I’m head over heels for heritage cities
UNESCO. Â For those of you who aren’t familiar, the acronym may look like letters for a combination gas station/carwash, a bulk goods grocery store, or some Silicon Valley Tech start up, BUT it stands for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Â UNESCO has a mission to promote the protection of natural and cultural sites and that their preservation be a way to educate future generations while bringing awareness to unique places all over the world. Â I’ve been checking their website before going to a new place to see if they have a world heritage site near where I’ll be staying and a pattern started to develop. Â I love…

6 Things I should do when I travel that I CONSTANTLY forget
By now I should be at least 83% of the following: A complete pro at security checkpoints or any kind of airport line for that matter, a suburb packer, fluent in several languages, a geographical genius, pursuer of insane travel deals, have a superhero like ability to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit and an organizer extrodinaire. Â I’m almost there people, have patience. I have put together things that I’m consistently finding that I forget or just blatantly ignore when traveling to put to bed the rumor that I’m not a 100% travel pro (like I said, I’m getting there) and the you don’t have to have every duck in a row…

Coffee Shop Talk: Where to Find the Best Coffee in the World
Brew a cup, order a Venti, or pop a K-cup in the Keurig because we are breaking down where in the world you can find the best coffee. Can I let you in on a little secret? If you read my story about my trip to a Colombian coffee farm, you already know that I’m the only person you know that doesn’t drink coffee. Ok, so what makes me an authority on where to drink coffee around the world? I love everything about the caffeinated craving in a cup aside from drinking it, in particular, the coffee shop.  The smell, people all sitting around socializing quietly with friends or working…
