18 Photos that Show the Beauty of Bhutan
Images of Bhutan
Bhutan is often found on travel lists as the interesting and unknown country. It’s the vacation that you’d love to take but aren’t sure where to start. Not many people visit the Kingdom of Bhutan or know much about it in comparison to it’s other Asian counterparts. Here are a few images of Bhutan to give you a glimpse into the country and inspire you to plan your trip.
Magical, mysterious, mountainous Bhutan.
This little land locked country is big on culture and tradition. Some would say they are stuck in the past, that you go back in time when visiting. I would argue they people of Bhutan are proud of their religion and history. They have modern conveniences, but always seem to return back to their past as they invite the future into their lives.
The people are friendly and welcoming. They are always happy to answer questions, smile to a stranger or speak fondly about their country. English is widely spoken in the country, so I had a chance to get to know many locals during my visit.
The architecture is ornate. They buildings all share similar wood carving techniques, painting and roofline styles.
The country is eco friendly & extremely clean. Everyone who lives in Bhutan seems to truly care about the earth & their surroundings.
There are beautiful rural villages. Bhutan has untouched countryside at every turn.
And when the fog settles, there are views of the Himalayas you could only dream about.
You can find spirituality here amongst their dozens of temples and monasteries.
Buddhism is the religion of the country, with little reminders everywhere.

There’s an opportunity to fly there from India or there’s a few land border crossings so that would be a good time to go!

Such a beautiful looking country! I’d love to visit one day. But, I’ve heard that it can be expensive to travel there. Is that true? Great photos.

The expensive part is that it’s an all inclusive daily rate, no real exceptions around that. Pay up front at once than don’t worry about it later! Thanks for checking out my pics, maybe it’ll inspire a trip 🙂

Oh Bhutan Bhutan. Very high up on my bucketlist and hoping the visa requirements will get a bit easier one day. But I can see it is so much worth it.

Not sure if they will ever be less strict due to the cultural & traditional priorities of the country – but it wasn’t that much trouble honestly! I hope you go one day
