Bogota, Colombia

Colombia’s sprawling capital, Bogota, is one of the largest cities in South America.  It’s comprised of individual neighborhoods, which are zones, or cultural pockets amidst the large urban city full of museums, galleries, theaters and libraries.  We opted to stay in Zona Rosa, or the T Zone, where there is plenty of shopping, nightlife and delicious restaurants and 82 Hostel is right in the middle of all the action.

82 Hostel: Home away from home in Bogota

We had the fortune of coming across 82 Hostel in our research, a quiet, clean hostel in a great neighborhood. They had everything we were looking for while we spent our first few days in Bogota. The staff was friendly and helpful, always happy to answer a question and they were life savers when it came to navigating their public transit system, the Transmilenio.  Rooms were spacious, with comfortable beds, your choice of either dorms style housing or private rooms.

They offered a nice quick breakfast, and the kitchen is available to use for cooking your own meals.  They have a lounge area with enough space to pop in a movie and relax.  When the weather was dreary we took advantage of the roof deck and had a quiet work day so it was a great place to be close to the action but have a serene space to work and sleep.

The surrounding neighborhood had restaurants and cafes for dining out, or around the block there are a few food vendors and convenient stores if you wanted to pick up groceries for yourself.  The public transit stop is a short walk away so the rest of the city is easily accessible for exploring during the day.  Thank you so much for your hospitality 82 Hostel, we had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back again soon!
